The Presence in Scented Light

I lie in body

and demanding much less

than a spark

A vial of oil

Let the paper ends burn

And these legs

-riddled with a peppery stiffness

Let them dissolve in purple ash

And the body here

Which you can see of course

Could very well be that of the polluter

Numbing into a brief digress

Without weight of fabric

Only that heavy cotton firmament

Carried off and yet

Set motionless

Metaphysical in absence

And since we are not here

Maybe there is blindness in

Even the presence of scented light
