Christmas Eve Prayer

Tonight, oh Lord, let us walk in your light;
The light of your truth and righteousness;
The light of your son, Jesus Christ.

Let us walk in
The light that came into this world more than two thousand years ago;
that faithfully comes into this world each and every day.

Let us walk in
The light that sets the captives free, comforts the brokenhearted,
that opens the eyes of the blind,
the ears of those who cannot hear.

Let us walk in
The light that dawns on those wandering in darkness,
those who live in the land of the shadow of death;
that reveals to us the pathways of our lives,
pathways shining ever brighter, ‘til the full light of day.

Let us walk in
The light that is the strength of our lives;
which the darkness has never understood.

Tonight, oh Lord, come into this place gleaming as the dawn.
Tonight, oh Lord, let us walk in Your light.
