Puppet Fear
I've sat here forever
with my fears,
fighting off the demons
screaming in my ears.
You're not going to make it,
Why even try?
You know what you're made of,
so shut-up and hide.
Creatures are crawling,
creeping about,
no one will ever listen,
So I'm not going to shout.
I'll stare out the window,
run when the door rings,
pulled like a puppet,
fear operating my strings.
Does this sound familiar?
Am I really all alone?
Sitting here forever,
in my own home.
