Your Purple Heart ©
Looking at your eyes, now peacefully closed,
in contrast with this sorrowed environment,
where chaos and confusion pretend to reign,
I see your tranquil face in so much content.
It just may be late at night; but not late in life,
with no obvious or apparent synchronization,
pain and selfish resentment quickly arrived,
needing help to gain control over my emotion.
Seeing that beautiful design on your delicate skin,
describing almost to perfection your anguished past,
perceiving such peace and serenity is an inconsistency,
and keeping both in harmony will be my toughest task.
At the beginning from the distance it looks like a bruise,
old injure acting as a weak reminder of a bad experience,
it is its special location that completes this cruel irony,
like making the past event, a mandatory recurrence.
But it is nothing like that, actually is a lovely portrayal,
a statement of who you are by using such peculiar art,
an expression that is describing the one that carries it,
the truth is that you really deserve that Purple Heart.
Being next to you makes me the luckiest one,
in toughest time and able to withstand the storm,
you teach me to appreciate a moment at a time,
remembering you forever will make this my norm.
Quietly, your angelical spirit travels to my heart,
I could not help to free a solitary glistening tear,
feeling like it will be too much to contain at once;
but let me know that you always going to be there.
