Main Course Mentality.
Lexi's shivering,
Cold and distraught.
In the rain.
Laughing,
She swears she's sane.
She knows she's bad.
Alex's imagining,
Dreaming quixotic fantasties
In the storm
Staring,
Unaware it's not the norm.
Unaware she's no typical teenager
Lexi's deranged,
All lit up again
At midnight
Addicted.
Reality's not faded out of sight
Not succumbed to the cravings
Alex's hiding,
Scared and confused
At night,
Crying.
Waiting for first light
Waiting for sunrise.
Lexi's sleeping
So, so gently.
Into day,
Smiling.
Ready to sprint, run away.
Ready to leave it all behind.
