All Along- A Flash Fiction
And so it sinks in, hitting with the force of one-hundred bricks. You're really gone. You're not there. Once again, I'm all alone. Though, was I ever truly not alone? Were you ever really there? Sure, you were my friend. We'd talk sometime. We'd hang out. You'd come over here, I'd go to your house. Though, all we seemed to talk about was you. It was always "Me, me, me, me, me, me, me!" when we talked.
You never cared about my feelings. You never cared what was going on in my life. You just never cared. You were a friend when you needed one, not when I needed one. You weren't ever there when I needed someone to talk to. You weren't there when my world fell apart. You weren't there to pick up the pieces.
So as I sit alone, going through the memories, I realize that I've been alone all along.
