Alone

The winds came and unsettled my mind.
The rain fell and mixed with my tears.
How can there be so much sadness?
Why are the skies always so cloudy?

Thankfully, I have a secret place.
A place that only I can go.
I go there when life gets tough.
When my thoughts are clouded.
It’s a safe place, I am alone there.

In my secret place – I am strong.
No one can touch me – I am alone.
In this place the sky is always blue.
The sun is always shining.
Well, it isn’t really – but I can make you think so.

I think this is an interesting poem, but you might consider about revealing a bit more of the secret place--in a way that describes in more intimate details about why it is a comfortable place. It might help connect to your readers a bit more.
