Humanity
How do you expect me to trust you?
When I don't even know you
By believing in the goodness of humanity?
Please
A collection of pleasure seeking, pain avoiding ego's
Is all that I see
Playing the self protection, self gain game
No different than me
I hide my true feelings from anybody
Who has the potential to hurt me
And in my opinion
That includes everybody
Especially me
If anything, I'm my most lethal enemy
How can I trust you?
When I don't even trust me
I'm a direct experience of this
So called humanity
From the inside, I see
If 100 percent love and trust
Needs to be
My beingness
For enlightenment
Then that... I'll never be
I'd have to let you give me all of you
And me...
I'd have to give you all of me
Full access to me
And that I just won't do
I give it to one
Complete intimacy
Half of the time
It gets thrown back at me
The rejection's too much
The pain runs too deep
I'm still not convinced,
That it's even worth the risk
To be 'One' with humanity

Problem with humans is that we love in fear because we are conditioned to do it that way - which is why we place a premium on the innocence of children - they do not love in fear, from fear, out of fear, but respond to warmth and kindness without asking 'what you want?'
You are humanity, by expressing your most human of sides, you become humanity without being a part of anything - respect for self, treating others with respect even if they do not deserve it, being polite, kind, virtues of humanity, feeling what you feel and not denying it out of fear... |
