Love Thy Neighbor
Hunters take lives like they own them
Was your life in danger?
Not saying I'm not just as guilty
For eating what they kill
So much blood gets spilled
Every minute, every day
The government gives them the right
As if they own all animal life
Neither do, definitely not you
And you accuse me of playing 'God'?
Thinking I'm always right
Knowing what's best for you
Well, I deceive myself too
Same with you, so fuck you
Be all that I hate and more
Be afraid, be very afraid
Be the embodiment of fear
Might as well
I've already been to and through hell
What more can come?
A fall of me
Maybe the death of me
Things are dying all around me
And that excludes me?
Ha! Not likely
I'm slowly dying daily
Be death, face death
Love it unconditionally
It's not an enemy
It's only the natural way
What's born must die
Some cry, some fry
That's lame, that last line
I've had enough of this pointless rhyme
This rant, this 'sang'
Some things will never change
They can't really..
It's only the natural way
And love thy neighbor,
But not thy spider...
Must be the Christian way

Oh, didn't even notice the type-o.
This was just a feeling I had. Saw my little sister and brother (who are heavily into christianity now. Sister tries to convert others..) kill a spider yesterday. I didn't stop them.. it hurt my heart and stomach to see it happen.
I've been afraid of spiders most of my life.. but I still have to catch them in a cup and take them outside now. Had to put my fear aside. I didn't force it.. it happened naturally for me a few years ago. So yea, I can't expect the same from them.
There was also this story I heard the night before, about a hunter giving up hunting because he saw a female duck stand in front of her injured mate and spread her wings over him.. shielding him from the hunter.
Supposedly 45,000+ hunters gave up hunting upon hearing that story.. with a new appreciation for the sacredness of all life. |

Dieing, not dying?
Hey, Christians love spiders too. But it is natural to kill the ones with red hourglasses on their bellies - those ones can kill back.
Hunters? Is that inclusive of police, soldiers and murderers and serial killers? The right to kill is framed in a reference of entitlement so why do we entitle some to kill and others not to? Our civilisation is built on the bones of martyrs, victims, war dead and collateral damage. That is the way it is, perhaps it can change, but not while control and order are at stake. |
