I keep forgetting that you don’t bring me comfort anymore
I keep thinking that somehow you can
Maybe your lingering spirit will hold me from behind
Like you should have
That maybe all my wasted shoulds
Have a purpose
And in this late hour
I try to conjure your sprit
Bring it back to your rightful place
in my bed
But I keep remembering where you rest
Sad flowers on top of a dirt blanket
Angels trying to guide you somewhere
But all I want
is you here
To keep all the promises
And all my hopes
In tact

A poignant piece and very sad. Incerdible longing is expressed here. I don't think there is anything you can add to this, because it has reached its level of perfection!
