Regrets
The curtains drop;
The lights go out…
Walking away, he has
Doubt in his mind.
He thinks of
Things that could’ve, would’ve,
Or should’ve been.
And it’s these
Thoughts of today's mistakes,
Hopes for a better tomorrow, and
Regrets from days gone by
That just sit and stew in his mind.
Constantly eating away
At the part of his mind
That remembers; he reflects,
Thinks back now on his
Newest and biggest screw-up.
Another notch in his belt;
Another regret in his mind…
