Gone.
Whens it gonna be the point in time when you realise
The damage youve brought and the memories youve lost
Mindless devotion of a child jabbering on about
The beauty and innocence that you can no longer see
Hoping and praying that youll just be there for once
For once just pick up a telephone and pretend not to hurt
Letting the baby on the other end feel like a human being
A change, a definite change in the mundane routine
Of feeling like a stranger in one's own skin
A centimeter would stretch for miles
If you could just realise I was once your child.

This is immensely powerful.

The emotion behind this, especially these last four lines, is amazing. Wonderful. |

| This is good, really hits right on the emotion. My dad lives thousands of miles away, and all I ever hear from him when he answers the phone once in a few months, is everything thats wrong with him and how he needs help. I think this piece really portrays this situation. |
