Linger

Embodied creation beneath

chambrays and silks, the fragrant

petals of orchids at dusk

reverberate in the soft pink

tissues this side of my eyes—

To have seen and felt

and tasted their curves—illicit.

Oh to unravel this knot—

tightening—

remembering the raspberry sweet

lingering on blossoms unkissed

in reverence of souls

bound before God(dess)

and all

and roll on the ground

in the darkness of those petals,

basking in the delicate scent—

A subtlety not soon forgotten.

This was very beautiful, luscious and delicious language. Very well done. I love the use of the dashes and the spaces. Good work.

Oh lovely! This called to mind so many physical sensations to me, softness and warmth. For some reason, too, I just adore the line 'and all'. It's perfectly positioned. Also, the ending line is fantastic. I have a terrible time trying to end poems.
