The Sound of a Teardrop

a woman’s cry from far away
i thought i heard a teardrop fall
but when i turned to look her way
there was no woman there at all

This is what I love about going back through peoples work...finding special gems like this one. Very touching.

I found a more pleasing story for myself in these four lines than I did the first ten pages of the book I'm currently reading. Wonderful piece of writing to kick start the imagination.

This is soft and sweet piece. I'm trying to piece together the concept of this short write.
What I took away from it was that when the narator looked back he did see the woman crying, but the language to me implies that "the woman" being in a weak state was not womenly, but child-like.. thus he would not see a woman.
tell me if my interpretation is wrong... but I got that out of it. :)

peace,
MM
