Mother's Love for a Child
Child’s one or two cries
Mother rushes to hold him
With one or two tears

David, now that an appreciation for haiku forged way for me to feel and learn the art, I had to revisit this one. Honestly, I had no idea the art form laid in front of me. Now...I read this haiku with so much respect. Best, Bebe

Thanks again for your kindness, Toniya. A good reader can think out of the words. Great. Thanks.

a beautiful portrayal of motherhood. Can carry many meanings. The mother could have the emotion because of her child's discomfort, or for other reasons (perhaps she never thought she would hear her child's cry and it gets to her emotionally, perhaps she is exhausted from the child's constant cries and weeks from distress--I say this having 3 children and knowing how hard it is caring for a baby)

You have a beautiful style & I do see where Phil & Queen are coming from, however, being a mother gives me such a strong connection to this piece. I feel the simplicity gives me, as the reader, what I need. Nice work!
