Someone else occupies my mind
Though in your eyes I try to find
Something that will bring me there
To the level of which you may care
So I may hold you back and make you free
And hope you’d do the same for me
Though I’d reach for what you brought
My spirit would always linger on another thought
. . . Say the things you deserve to hear
. . . Feel as you feel, and just as dear
But though I’d let you speak
My passion would remain somehow weak
Enough so that at least I would know
The attention you deserve I would no show
. . .Want you, and need you as you should be
Wanted and need as you would be
Were you not with me
My far away looks are not your blame
I never had the stomach for such a game
I am drawn to you and all you do
And the way you touch and the way you “woo”
Our time together has been the best
But I have no heart to invest
Although I know nothing of what you expect
I feel first I must clarify before I effect
Any responses from your heart or your mouth
To avoid any pain brought by open doubt
I long to make you the one for me,
Convince myself that I could be
The one for you easily
Whatever you desire: A moment or timeless
I can not close my eyes when we kiss
We have so much shared in the past
Our friendship must forever last
You’re so important to me and so real
I felt it dire you understand how I feel
I know you and your heart is open and true
And how easily you choose to let people through
You’re eager to care and express it so
Even for those blind to the show
I will hold you and be with you through the night
As long as you leave once there is sunlight
My distance and iciness are not of you
Just before this, someone else passed through
And left me empty, with nothing at all
No one ‘goodbye’, or ‘sorry I let you fall’
So please excuse the nothing in my touch
The last person made me spend too much

So, I’m sorry that I may have mislead
While inviting you openly into my bed
Please remember, though my eyes are blank
Talking is good if I could just stop the think

. . . Pass through all these that I thought
And free the fears from where they’re caught
. . . Allow myself more than a moment to stay
With the fears and the scars gone far away
. . . Enjoy the idea of you wanting me
And let you embrace me in fantasy
I respect and care for you just too much
To let you waste your softest touch
. . . .Reach out of this emptiness
And grasp what I’m missing in your kiss
But…a man with a heart so promising and true
Deserves a woman with those qualities too.
