Parody ~Camp Granada by Alan Sherman~
Hello parents, hello siblings
I have arrived in big ole’ D.C.
Washington is overcrowded
And I’m so dizzy from the trip my sight is clouded
I went out with Amanda Tober
Her pack got stolen right off her shoulder
You remember the Monroe sisters
With all the walking they came back with lots of blisters
The chaperones here love the walking
The 4-H leaders say to talking
During lectures, which are boring
They allow no bathroom breaks or even snoring
Please don’t let this make ya ‘fraid
My stuff was taken in last night’s raid
You remember the boy Luke Behnke
He saved my life but sacrificed his little pinky
Please call me
Oh, mother, father,
Please call me
You know my number
I hate it
Deep in the city where
At night
No one goes out for fear
Please call me
I need to hear everyone’s voice
Yes, even Hannah and the boys’
Oh please don’t make me wait
I’ve been here sixteen hours to date
Dearest father, Darling mother,
How’s my precious little brother?
If you call me, I’m not kidding
I’d change his diaper, wash his clothes and all his bedding
Wait a minute
A breeze is blowing
It’s not humid
Where are we going?
No more lectures?
Gee that’s better!
Parents, Siblings, kindly disregard this letter
