hubris

thought
for the longest time
I had it
figured out

world by the tail
bird in hand
and all that

hubris has its
aficionados

then when the great unraveling began
and the wearing down kicked in

and the long
slow
liquid
glide path
commenced

it was like
some impossibly
tragic
seemingly voluntary
death march

to the cliff
and the rocks
below

half way down
came clarity

together
was never
part of the plot

and now
still in the air
not sure
if its falling
rising
or merely
floating along

at least
the arrogance
is gone

that's a good thing
ain't it?

A great piece on painful, personal evolution.... I know it well. Thanks.

I haven't been around for about 5 months. Trying to rectify that now. Good to see you again, we need another chat.
