Ghost Writer (Alien 17)

Timeless opus lost beneath attic dusty storage
Pages yellowed, moisture bellowed, crumbling with resistance
Leather binding, cracked behind a lonely, weeping spine
Screaming ink that can't be heard within the faded tether
She lies beyond, a drifting swan, floating in the nether

Lyrics dance eternal but infernal ears won't listen
Mindless spawn too drawn to sight to touch such noble faith
Eyes refuse to see beyond the threshold of familiar
Greedy, empty hearts and souls, clutching tarnished rhymes
She broods above their dull-wit ranks for words she's left behind

This is fabulous Arley! being a lover of poetry; my comfort zone, I literally felt every word crying out to be read from that book and how well you described the yearning, if it could only speak... bloody good!

Great work Arley, I hate to admit it but I'm not a poetry fan, but this really stuck with me, I can see why it recieved honorable mention in the June challenges, congrats.
