Poem for You

I wrote a poem for you,
Thinking that you were the one

But you made it feel as though,
You were only having fun

Now I read that poem
And I think,

What was it
That made us link?

Because I know that for a second,
We were one

But now it’s all over.
Now the love’s done.

Even though,
You said it before

It was still hard to believe
When you said it once more.

You even wrote it down
Without saying a word to me

You wrote it down,
On that little piece of tree.

By then,
It might’ve been to late

Or so I thought,
When you asked me to date.

However, looking back at that poem I wrote,
I think I wrote it to you

Not for you.
Just so you could lift me up, when my sprits were blue.
