Simply Silhouettes Chapter 3.

Chapter: Three

White snow was falling he walked through a small court yard that was filled with deep winter’s leafless trees. Dark red brick walls surround three sides of the court yard leaving only one entrance and exit. The snow crunched under his heavy black boots as he walked forward towards the side that served the exit to this dream dimension. Through the heavily falling snow the silhouette of a girl stood next to one of the weeping willows. Even his footsteps grew quiet as he approached the girl from behind, so quietly that even a highly trained ninja wouldn’t be able to compete.
“Hello Salem,” she said, her head now bowed looking into the snow.
“…Who are you?” Salem asked unable to see her face. Her voice was familiar, a ghost that had been unforgotten for so long.
“Do you not recognize an old friend?” She said and turned around. His heart nearly stopped as he stared into in to her green eyes.
“Ash?” he asked, more in a statement than a question.
“So you do remember,” she said with a sigh.
“I can’t forget” He said. She smiled slightly.
“And even death can’t convince me to forget you,” Ash said.
“I miss you,” he said pulling here into a tight hug that he wished would bring her back to life. Ash’s head rose and looked behind him as if something were there. She started to move away from Salem, and he turned also to see what was behind him. It was dark, and the falling snow made it impossible to see the other side of the court yard. He turned back around, and then realized that Ash was no longer there with him.
“I can help you,” A voice echoed through the court yard. He looked around trying to find where the voice was coming from.
“I’ll be seeing you shortly….” The female voice said and then Salem collapsed to his knees onto the snow. Black haze filled dizzy vision.
