I Used To know Her
Her pure face
that white cheek of hers
This is her time
at last
The perfect life she now leads, she
Has it all
Such purity about her, around her,
She,
lives a life without sin, she
follows rules,
does not disobey, does not
ask questions
The picture-perfect still images
of a girl whose life’s begun,
a girl I once recognised,
a girl I once knew,
unpretentious,
unaware,
unacquainted,
of voices that surround her,
oh-so happy life, of
people who call themselves
her accomplices, her
companions, her
lover
A man whose portrait sends
shivers down my spine, she
so delicate, a flower
blooming, he
experienced
motionless
manipulative
Picture-perfect life she leads,
unaware,
unprepared
This is her time,
she is the
future, I
the past
