The Lighthouse

The Lighthouse(Part 1?)
By Zack Wilson

Welcome, welcome, I bid
In my home you are hid
In the sea you were found
Cold and half-drowned
With your hair full of kelp
And too weak to call help

I tended you my best
But still you need rest
Strange men they are seeking
Your person still reeking
Of tide and the shoal
What is is you stole?

No! Do not worry!
Your hands all a-flurry
There's nothing to fear
Life nor love's cheer
Both fled through the door
Towards the evergreen shore

It's you and it's me
Like fish in the sea
In this lighthouse cold standing
On the seashore demanding
Some simple relief
Forgetfulness brief

So why were you drifting
With storm clouds still lifting
Shipwrecked or marooned
But left with no wound?
Tell me, what is your tale?
To where do you sail?

Where fair-haired maiden
What thought has you laden
With the doubt in your eye
I know you cannot deny
I have seen it before
Standing at my own door

Now, speak and don't tarry
Your words weak or merry
Tell this hermit your past
At the great lighthouse last
