WHEN WILL A SMALL DRAGON WAKE UP?

WHEN WILL A SMALL DRAGON WAKE UP ?

When we’re talking about Vietnam,it means we’re mentioning a country with 4000 years of existence.People in other countries usually thought of Vietnam as a poor Asian country one decade ago.Nowadays everything is changing and Vietnam has a new position on the world map.

If you had come to this country 5 years ago,you would have realized there were many problems here.In Ho Chi Minh City-one of the biggest cities in Vietnam, some people had to work more than 8 hours a day but the money they earned were very poor. Some of them did all sorts of jobs to earn a living.”Vacation” was something squandered and they tried to work nine to five to make enough money. After Vietnam joined the WTO in November-2006,everyone expected that the government would help people have better lives, especially people from a low class.

Nevertheless, some economic experts said although Vietnam had joined the WTO,the Vietnamese government had to faced up to new problems such as inflation or distinguishing between the rich and the poor.In the first 2 months of 2008,we can see that rich people own many houses when poor people like workers or teachers haven’t got their own houses. That’s why they’re living in rented houses. It’s really not fair.

On the other hand,we have to concede Vietnam’s development. It’s also a good chance for foreign companies and businessmen investing in the country. At the beginning of November-2006,a businessman named Alex Jou came to Vietnam. He lives in Australia but he really loves native Vietnamese pottery. He found it beautiful when he visited here once and now he’s cooperating with a traditional pottery village. The reason why Alex and his family came here in 2006 was very meaningful. He wanted to donate more than 500,000 US dollars to Orbis Humanity Ophthalmology Organization. He called it “The gifts for children”.This is a lofty action.

Vietnam is walking in a new way which can make this country become a modern country in Asia.We have just started and we need to try more and more in the future. We don’t know how it will take;or even if it will put Vietnam into difficult problems but one thing we know is that we won’t give up.

International friends recognize Vietnam like a small dragon. They have been expecting that the dragon will wake up one day.I’m wondering when it will wake up.No one can give me an answer better than myself but I believe more or less Vietnam-an Asian dragon, will grow up and become the pride of Vietnamese.
