Reflections

Another day of
Reflections
Dissections
Cruel
Inspections
Of the roads
Taken that
Have brought me
To nowhere
In particular
For oh so long …

Now finding myself
Paralyzed on
Roads untraveled
I stand in muted
Confusion
with harsh
Resolution
Pushing me
To move on
Yet my fears
Hold me back
With heavy
Deadened
Leadened
Weight

‘Cause
It’s a big bad world
Holding so much pain
Yet offering
So much to gain
Or so I hear …

An Open Universe
Crystallized
Bright
Starlit
Skies
Lighting
My way
Becoming
Succumbing
Enraptured
Captured
By the beauties
Of my
Final
Destination

And then again
There’s that
Unknown bend
In the road
Which may lead
Me to my
destruction
As I break my heart
On the hard
Obstruction
Thrown
Across my
Path
Time
And
Time
Again …

So do I take
The road
Familiar
That well
Worn path
Which
Inevitably
Frustratingly
Leads me
Back
To point A?

Or do I throw
Cautions
To the wind
Take the road
Less traveled
In the hopes
That it will
Free me
Take me
Guide me
Lead me
To a place
..Of my own?
...A heart
....I call home?

To you?

Many questions asked of yourself, that only you can answer. This piece certainly captures an existentialist’s feeling of dread arising from their awareness of free choice. However, you’ve added a touch of optimism and careful thought, that suggests a promise of reconciliation. Creative and enjoyable read!

Leah, thank you~I'm glad you enjoyed this piece...

Matt, angst and uncertainty have had a grip on me of late, but optimism always rules my life...I've found that just when you least expect it, there are wonderful events just around the corner...

Thank you Renee....we inspire each other my friend~
