Child's play

Stinking smell,
pies of rubbish dazzling with flies...
Hands,
many tiny hands rummaging through.
Dirty faces with serious, uneasy looks,
trying not to miss even one piece of food.
Not hopscotch or hide and seek.
This is a survival game, urban style...

Thanks for the comments. Fred there is definitely an urban blight and all of us get our share from it, I guess.
