all talk (sonnet from one of my classes this year)
If it snows you promise that you'll be there,
And when it rains you promise to be my cover,
And when I'm hot, you say you'll put up my hair.
And when I am not, we will sing out forever.
And in the lyrics you'll scream that I'm your lover.
That is just the trouble with those books,
You say that you will leave me not now not ever,
And that is just the trouble with awing looks.
The words you say are alluring hooks,
Everything is perfect on T.V.
Happy families in eating in breakfast nooks,
I'm pretty sure that's who you want us to be.
You can't stop rain without a hood,
So don't just talk, learn to do some good.
the rhythms kind of off, oh well.
