Autumn

Autumn is now here in all it's glory
Leaves begin to don their coats of color
The breezes begin to tingle skin that bare
The sunsets are more beautiful than before
The fall's rain chills you to the bone

Squirrels begin to hide their nuts of summer
Birds begin the long journey south
Flowers show their last blooms of the year
Deer find the pine needle beds inviting
Romantics collect wood for fires to come

In a world so cruel and confusing
One might believe Autumn is a time of reflecting
Looking back at Spring's true loves blossomed
Seeing the summer go quicker than it came
Knowing soon snowmen will again rule the world

As I take a walk deep into a forest
I find a peace so ancient, as old as the Earth
There is a quietness that only fall can bring
A feeling that time is standing still

Out among the Autumn's friends
I find it so hard to believe
Summer is gone and winter is on its way
The seasons almost completed
Time rushing by

Fall is a time I love
A time to see all of nature in its glory
Fall leaves means leaf pile jumping
Autumn harvest means pumpkin pie
Frigid rains means ice storms to come

Yet now is not the time to plan ahead
Now is a time to relax and enjoy all
See the awe which the Earth volunteers
The beauty, the quiet, the song of old

Many see Autumn as an ending
The ending to summer
Cook-outs soon to stop
No more to hear the music of the robin
Green pastures gone till spring

I see Autumn as a friend
One that is quiesce
Bringing serenity to a crazy world
A season that prepares us all for bitter cold
A reminder that summer is ending

Now is the time to get ready
Also the time to relax and enjoy
Now one can see all of summer's creatures
Also to see all of winter's creatures
Now the stars are brighter
Waiting for us all to explore

So do not fret the Autumn's winds
Nor cry about the missed trip to the pool
See the seductive dance the trees now perform
Hear the call of the fawn to it's doe
Smell the pleasantly cold and invigorating air
Taste the bountiful harvest fall does bring
And dream of snowflakes, no two alike
Knowing soon the circle of life
Will once again begin
