Going Solo. (Wee # 40)

“I am going solo. I found an island amidst a concrete jungle, far away from the crowds,” the singer announced.

“But aren’t we already nuclear?” asked the wife.

The singer smiled. “The call of creativity, sweetheart. I need my space to connect to myself, to create music.”

“Music is not a loner. It itself depends upon the instruments for its existence.” She felt like screaming these words, but chose not to.

An apartment slightly bigger than his body was soon bought where he started enjoying his solo days.

Watching TV these days was getting on his nerves. All they cared about was reality shows. The era of mass performance had arrived. He waited endlessly for his work.

They broke open the door and found him lying dead on the floor covered in his own shit. The room was like an island, overlooking the concrete jungle, far from the crowds.

Tony, the axiom 'we are what we choose' is unavoidable.

This is a pertinent piece, in which it tells me one can never escape reality if one chooses to become a part of it... at least the ending really confirmed what I'm stating. Quite an awesome perspective you have here June.

Giles, Wanda,

Lemme butt in...it is technically indeed called as Giles mentioned "Circular Ending" where the story circles back to the begining.A well-written circular ending doesn’t strike the reader as repetitious. On the contrary, it allows the reader "to grasp the significance of the beginning for the first time." (Fletcher).

Thanks Giles that you liked it.
Regards,
June.
