Scraps of Her

Her last letter, tear-stained

and creased, whose wearied words

of faded, jaded love

and long lost lust, he tore

above the stone-lined maw

until all her scraps had

fallen into shadow.

I enjoyed this piece Phill.I loved the flow of the poem and the all around tone of the piece itself. Good work.

First off, great title - clearly represents what this whole poem is about, and it's eye catching.

"of faded, jaded love

and long lost lust, he tore" - loved the rhythm and rhyme of these lines.

Great use of that last line, too - really gives it that sense of closure.

happy writings.

brilliant. I loved it. Great use of the last line phrase and yeah, wow - I think I'll be along to check out some of scottishsong's work next because that comment was poetry, too!

Great poem, Phil. Well written indeed and nicely punctuated, too ;)

Must say Phil, this was very profound, went deeper than the words. I could as if see the emotions so deftly captured in these lines. Simply beautiful.

Also Scottishsong's interpretation of it was complementary. She could visualise the lines unfolding before her. Lovely comment.

Thanks.
