Wandering eyes
Blank stares
Useless conversation
Benign life waiting to happen

Try to rein you in
Talk endlessly
All futile attempts
No reaching through your wall

All I have is my you
What I remember of us
We’re here together
What the hell does it matter
Useless memories are all I have

You talk when something has to be said
No need to waste your breath
Your cigarettes will do that
Mid-fight light another `cause avoidance is your game

Maybe isolation is what you want me too feel
I think that’s a dirty deal
Considering our love used to be so strong
Apparently now you want to string me along
