Burning Beautiful

The mirror before me holds a stranger.
Countlessly surpassing each incantation with another.
To speak the truth through false lips that shine with temptation.
The day the night broke into shattered glass.
For what was known as beautiful now is the unknown.
These deceptions are the ashes from burning the beautiful.
As thoughtless paths beyond addiction scream,
The silence is killing me.

It knocks on your door.
The nightmare awaits.
Look through glass to stop the fire.
This darkness will only last until the next surgery.

Before your feet lie unaccomplished stories.
They melt into truth.
Ashes from what burned before dust.
Ashes from burning beautiful.
