Tabula Rasa
Thoughts
which held me prisoner
discarded now like
drug store receipts
for prescriptions which
did not heal.
Doubts
like ugly weeds
which choked the blossom of
my root-bound dreams
are swept in piles
to burn.
Priorities
which flattered themselves
to be my own
are marching with
military precision
toward a grinding,
smoking, splintering end.
Their transformation is
brighter than sunshine.

Whoa thar, Sally, this is dandy!
Love —
discarded now like
drug store receipts
for prescriptions which
did not heal. |

I like this one, too. There's such a powerful message, great images and the title really helps to get the message across. Good work because a title is as important as the poem itself.
Great use of the line I gave.

Excellent, Sally! You're getting better all the time. Filled with unusual images and thoughts.

| The first image is powerful "like drug store receipts for prescritpions which do not heal." The conclusion has an impact too. We all take everything so seriously and in the end, we are gone like smoke. |
