For Faulkner

wanting only sun to breathe
and air to feel
a brazen day
already fierce
the hazy wafer of
intolerable sun
raised its head as if
an un-shaded bulb
harsh and savage

mosquitoes whined and whirled
their shrill voices buzzed
from some distance
as the long moment
gathered itself and turned
i could hear my held breath

This was a great piece Phill. You have a way with imagery like no other. Incredible piece.

What a pity I have not met this poem! Well done! Now you are not a doctor for people but a poem doctor! Best wishes.

Amazing visual right down to the beaded brow or the mosquito bite you may have caused me, Phil. Great read. Bebe

You and the elements, I tell you, Phil, I do believe you could make it snow in July, heh heh. Another tasty treat from the mind of The Mag.

I actually really hate Faulkner. But not this poem! Very photographic, very imaginative. You can see the place as you read it. Another poem on the shelf.
Good work.
