Stars on a Hill

City burning;
I catch the star by
the hand and we talk.

She stays on the hill
and watches
the city burn

with me.

Hands creep and
anxiousness sets in.
We stop.

Stars belong in the sky
not with me.
We continue as

the rest of the stars watch.

Lips vibrate and
faces create friction;
eyes meet and deep thoughts ensue.

We continue.
Stars
don't belong

with me.
