Do You See Now? Do You See?

The ultimate, controlling authority
Wasn't God, people, or outside
Not parents, teachers, or friends
The entire time, it was my mind

It has kept me as a prisoner
Cut off from love, support, and help
Convincing me I was alone
And better off killing myself

It told me you were all against me
Didn't like me or even want me
That you'd never understand me
And that not even 'I' could love me

I like the message of the poem; I see it thus: A man who becomes his own best friend is friend to all.

it is true that you are your own worst enemy...i can relate to one of the lines though...someone i knew committed suicide this morning...people should get out of their heads and just talk to someone you know?
