What is...

Each day that passes I learn another lesson I never wanted to learn

Every year that goes by I lose more and more of the things that have any meaning

Shall my life be wrought by anger and spite?

Is that the only way one can be free?

By distrust and alienation?

Good intropsective poem. I especially liked the first line. Definately can relate.

I'm kind of there. Trying to move past seeing the lessons as a punishment.. and just seeing them as lessons. Definately a lot of anger comes up as I lose more of the things that gave my life meaning and purpose.. turns out that was just another dependence on external sources of happiness. They were only temporary in the first place.. The anger is fading. I hope that yours does too. Takes awhile.. especially if you hold onto things/the past really tightly.

I definitely like how yet being a dark way of looking on life it still looped me in on your perspective. truly on, one can lose themselves during our course of living, but you can find your way. One decides how they want to be freed, whether by disintegration of society or humble ignorance. nevertheless, one has the final choice of life. great wording, especially "more of the things that have any meaning".
