am i alive
as i wander
through these days

rarely able to think clearly
often at the edge of the abyss
almost holding the darkness
in my trembling hands

i so desire
to set my eyes
on a warm glowing fire
which excites the chords
of my souls guitar

each day is a battle
as the inhumanity of humankind
kicks the little positiveness
that i do have
out of my weakened spirit

i am sick and tired
of all the wickedness
which parades before me
every single day
i am ashamed to be a man
to be part of this global curse

human we may be
kind most definitely not

a part of me desires death
to escape this plague
which we all contribute to
those that are driven by selfish desires
those who look the other way
those who choose not to speak
all have one thing in common
each one is weak
