ode to a miracle (Alien's poetry Challenge #22)
I was on the other side of the world
singing songs of change
Reflecting on a distant dream
trying to rearrange
While I was busy watching the setting sun
pondering ‘bout my songs unsung
You stood ‘arms wide open’, tasting the rain
butterflies and miracles, splashing insane
Like a sea, you enveloped the rain
Sure, you never felt the pain
You walked a silent mile
Amidst the land of gadgets and miracles
Wearied, with all the razzmatazz
You chose to live the innocence
You were born with a silver spoon
But I had silver in the moon.
Yet a destined crossroads awaited its time
A kindred spark, with a tender shine
I had endless words to share,
Few dead poems to rhyme
And you endured them all
without a slightest whine
We could write a song that never cries
cull clouds from the skies
put wings to dreams that float
across our wistful eyes.
But I guess you’re leaving, and its ok.
You were never there, anyway!

| One word: Wow! Absolutely loved this, was full of emotion and like the rain, each word flowed freely and effortlessly. I am adding this to my library |

An interesting poem. I love the lines:
"You were born with a silver spoon
But I had silver in the moon."
Financial riches pale in the face of God's creation.
When love is real, it doesn't walk away. When it isn't real, it doesn't matter if it walks away. Thanks for sharing. Janet |
