THE CROSE MANIFESTO

Last week, I took a trip to Las Vegas, where a Star Trek Convention was. It was I have to say the mecca of all science fiction and fantasy. I got to meet legends: Pavel Chekov, Captain Apollo, Travis Maywether, Malcolm Reed and several other legendary characters. Me, my dad and brother, spent some time talking with the actor who played Lieutenant Boomer in the original Battlestar Galactica.

Boomer was a cool dude and it was fun talking with him, we took photos and got an autograph. But he also got me thinking. Las Vegas was the last stop on a road trip that me and my family were undertaking. We went to Arizona, where we stopped by: Tombstone, Meteor Crater, Grand Canyon and an air museum. This whole trip made me think of an ulitmate plan.

Now, back in the 70s science fiction and fantasy were in their hayday. It were regarded as a nerdy, uninteresting, borefest, but not as bad as today. Everyone would watch science fiction and enjoy it, classics like Star Trek and Battlestar Galactica, but then again our space program had just landed on the moon and people were still interested in space. Basically put all three together and you have my plan.

Lately I've been writing my science fiction piece, Crose. It has potential to become a great science fiction masterpiece. Because it puts the science in the fiction. More on Crose later...

I call for the complete rejuvenation of the genre and reinvention of the genre. I want science fiction to return to the status it was at back in the seventies. Anyone up for the challenge?
