A year of my life taken
Society uncaring
My conviction not shaken
Liberty and freedom ring

Stand tall, never looking down
Eyes focused on the future
Brothers in arms all around
We will get through this I’m sure

Hard times each of us will face
As we serve our great country
In this dusty arid place
We will win this you will see
