Honest Intentions

All this claim, all this praise
I thank the Lord she digs my ways
She writes of me with words so fair
With tongue and wit and rhyme and care
It boggles my mind that she can't see
All the perfect-ness she brings to me
All the ways in which I learn
This is the deepest my heart has ever yearned
She is a lesson of what it means to be
To have nothing in your heart but purity
Everything that is good in the world
Can all be seen when I'm looking at her
Find someone better, well there be none
When we end its only cause' our time is done
As everything in life must eventually change
So eventually we'll go our separate ways
But to speculate such an account
When we're nowhere close to such a doubt
So I thither away from those sort of views
And only wrap myself up in thoughts of you
Thoughts of you, thoughts of us
I daydream away the monotonous ruts
And soon will be when I break free
And I want to take you everywhere with me
Every monument, every land
There we walk hand in hand
There we point and there we stare
At all the culture everywhere
And at night I'll take you down into bed
Gaze at you in amazement, shaking my head
This can't be real, but it is
Found the perfect cheat code to life is what we did
With your heart and my drive
We can soak up everything, we can devour life
Since meeting you I've not once been sad
Not once felt misplaced, not once felt bad
And yes I left him in part for you
And in part because our time was through
But fate has a funny way of working itself out
Six months ago I would of never guessed this route
That you and I were soon to become lovers
That our lives would become so intertwined with one another's
But now that it has, I do nothing at night
But thank those lucky stars that shine in my sky
Whisper your name and then
Goodnight.
