I am the dust on your dresser
You brush me away, but
I always come back
And I am a constant annoyance
I once was a puppy
But I grew old
And the novelty
Faded away
There are so many things
I would like to say
But I fade into the background
And my words are barely there
You brought her home
And she was so lovely
But eventually she too
Will cease to amuse you

Great job, very poignant. I love the imagery in the first stanza of being like dust. I think many people can relate to being brushed off or replaced. keep up the good work.
I love this poem up to the last stanza. It seems to be far too obvious and in appropriate to the rest of the piece. The rest of it is excellent however. And I loved the second stanza probably because I know that feeling all too well.....lovely work!
