In My House

In my house
There is a flag
With thousands of names on it
A nurse sleeps worn out from work
There is a boy who only wants to play music
There is a fridge in need of a cleaning
And a dog in need of a cleaning
There is a single banana waiting to be eaten
There is a piano that is frequently played
And a girl who wishes she could do more

***
This is that flag mentioned.

Ah. Always a catch when you notice everything around you but can't figure out how to - do the one thing you really want. Loved your use of the topical viewpoint as a diving board into the last, deeper line. Nice poem!

Thank you, that's what I was going for.
It's about my family, obviously...
