Cold

Surely it must be summer soon?
The cold is reaching my heart
and all that's dear is becoming
unloved by me

When the sun comes
my love will return.

Or at least it will be easier
To pretend
with heat all around.

I'll be more forgiving
and less wanting,
I'll turn my body
to your pleasure.
and my life will bend
again to your will.

Surely it must be summer soon?
This coldness is getting too hard
to bear

Extremely sad. To go through the winter in anticipation of summer only to become an object of someone's desire and will. Beautifully written. I love it. The summer is the real sad time.

I have been in a place where it was "too cold" to love. Reminds me of some of my trials. Well written. There are times that love must be pretense - at least until we can feel again.

I liked the line "The cold is reaching my heart", it makes me think that the cold is alive - good description.

Good but a little on the depressing side
PS I know that 'cold'

This was the saddest part for me. That perhaps the summer would not cure, but only treat the symptoms of the coldness.
