The Question
“The recognition that no knowledge can be complete, no metaphor entire, is in itself humanizing. It counteracts fanaticism. It grants even to adversaries the possibility of partial truth, and to oneself the possibility of error… In a time of exploding change- with personal lives being torn apart, the existing social order crumbling, and a fantastic new way of life emerging on the horizon- asking the very largest of questions about our future is not merely a matter of intellectual curiosity. It is a matter of survival.”
-Alvin Toffler
Life is a series of moments, happenings that may or may not shape who we’ll turn out to be when the Day of Judgment is upon us. Most people never get the chance to live the lives that they want to live. Some people dream of money, power and fame. Some accept any and every handout that comes their way, free of charge or consequence. While some just lay awake in their beds at night, praying that the next day will somehow bring an end to their suffering. But then there are a few. A few who smile in the darkness and say their thanks for another beautiful day. Just one more day.
Every word I write will sound as if it were written by the hands of someone with a Martyr Complex.
So I will say this, and only this-
Lord, deliver me from myself, for I am my own worst enemy.
(Where do we go from here?)
