The Big Event

The Event came and went

the planning
the worry
the paranoia
the pressure

the fleeting pleasure
the cost
the pain of
loss

hold the memory
confirmed certified
it happened
a realized dream

oh the excitement
the booze and the losers
dawn de-hydration, the waking
on a strange floor

the shadows of recollections
halos floating in fog
in the event the Event
came and went
