Cool Front

today the weather changed
from sweltering to breathable
more than breathable
amusement park weather
picnic in the park weather
today i remembered the look of peace
on my friend's face
not those little ravines in his mother's cheeks
i heard an "i love you"
whispered into my head

Ah ... a breath of fresh air.
I love your progress from the cool front to the very lines in the face of someone who has suffered.
I love the love I found here.
I have a theory ... when it is cold outside, human beings are happy with one another. When it is hot they are not. I think it has to do with touching.
There is no touching in your poem, but a feeling that touching would be just fine.

You've captured the essence of a very good day. And I feel good just from reading it.
