'Tis now too late to turn around
We’ve fallen too deep,
‘Tis far too late to turn around
And start from scratch again.
I wanted to talk to you
And so I did
I wanted to talk to you a little bit more
To find out a little more about you,
And so I have.
Then I wanted to see you,
More
And when you weren’t there I felt empty and alone
I dreamed of only you
Though I had others on the side, all wanting to have me
They were too far from my heart
You had my heart, though I didn’t know it.
I wanted to see you every day, and that I did
And when you weren’t there, it hurt me like hell, and I didn’t know why.
Then I wanted to touch you, to tell my heart I can take it, to tell it
Its way in over its head
But when I did, I wanted to touch you again to make sure
And so I did,
Then you hugged me, and I was lost in your arms
I told myself its all just some fun, a little fun can do no damage,
My heart told me I needed you
Your hugs
And your caresses, and
Your sweet words, and the countless phone calls,
Your gestures, your warm and caring eyes
Those hazels that gave me no air, and your gorgeous honest smile
My heart told me to hold you, just once more
But now it’s too late to turn around
And start from scratch again,
To put the feelings aside
And pretend it doesn’t hurt me
The fact that I can’t have,
More than that
The fact that I can’t have you
To hold and touch me the way you do, the way no one ever did before
But now it’s too late to turn around,
And start from scratch again,
And tell my heart it’s just fun and games,
When baby I’ve fallen for you.
