Emilie Sagée's Doppelgänger
Emilie Sagée's Doppelgänger
(The case of Emilie Sagee, during the year 1845/7, is well documented. She was a 32-year old French women; teacher at a boarding school, Nuwelike in Livonia. During the 18 months she was there the 42 boarders and professors state that her double was frequently projected. This gave the appearance of 2 Emilie Sagées, simultaneously visible, and each as distinctly seen as the other)
What bane sapped your quintessence
Seen dancing on windy grey
Some say your fetch in woodland
Conspired to draw you away
A wraith to hold you captive
Without ever knowing why
A presence or an omen
Was it to be that you should die
Catching sight of your blonde tresses
You hastened, lifting your skirts
What appeared mademoiselle Sagée
Now weeps where no soul hurts
(about 1992)

| June, but science can only read things under microscopes; given substance, what of the substances, yet unknown and intangible, to which we only have theory as our guide? I'm inclined to agree with Tristan on the astral projection. Thanks both for your thoughts. :) |

O God, this was spooky. Is it possible??
Well after reading this, I'm reflecting on my poem on Doppelganger and imagining me that way. Awww...what a connection after 16 years from the date of your writing the poem.
However, I still would like to believe it as an abstract or an allegorical idea but imagining it as real...I cannot. It is against science.
This poem is brilliantly written.
WoW, I loved every bit of this. Perhaps I am, reincarnated. :P ~ J |

I am thinking astral projections. There are many instances of spiritually advanced individuals being able to project astral bodies, or bodies of light, while meditating or concentrating.
It is almost a shame you picked such an interesting subject to write such a beautiful poem about (almost). |

Svet and jac, it is probably the best know case of doppelganger activity.
I have no information about how or when she died. I couldn’t find the answer. But according to the documented case Emile Sagee was seen by her students writing on a chalkboard alongside an exact double mimicking her actions. On another occasion, while teaching a sewing class, her students could see her double in the gardens, two girls approached this double and as they got closer felt some kind of resistance in the air, they then passed right through it. These events became so frequent and distressing that Sagee was eventually relieved of her duties.
Edit:
Such is my memory, I cared to clarify:

I imagine this being read out aloud. What a powerful story and weird almost scary....your connection with death is dark...and I guess this is dark subject matter. Especially as so many poeple back the story up. I get mistaken a lot for other people. Maybe we all experience this. There's nothing I want to pick out because it all works for me. You have such a lyrical and rythmic feel to your work. Always a pleasure to read and makes us all think and question what we perceive as reality.
Did she die prematurely? |
